Places To Visit In France
Nice, France
Arrive in Nice on a cloudless day, and you'll get the shock of a lifetime. The airstrip
lies in the Mediterranean sea and from the plane it looks like you're going to hit
the water. But let this not stop you for going to Nice because you will absolutely
fall in love with this place. The drive/bus ride in from the airport along the Promenade
des Anglais is the perfect introduction to the French Riviera's gem of a city. This
is the Mediterranean as you pictured it!
Nice has the beach (warning: it's a large pebble beach, but on the plus side you
won't get sand stuck anywhere), the sun, the charming pedestrian old town with his
little cute markets, as well as magnificiant back country: La vallée des Merveilles.
There are a lot of charming restaurants and you can feel you are in the South of
France. People are open, calm and optimistic, a real southern ambiance.
Use Nice as a jumping off point to visit all round: Cannes, Monaco, Saint Jean Cap
Ferrat, Grasse are wonderful day excursions. Or just sit back, relax, and order
a beverage on the world famous Cours Saleya. There's something for everyone! Nice
is sophisticated.
Paris, France
Paris, the capital of France, the capital of fashion and love. There's truly something
for everyone in Paris, but be sure to check out the Eiffel Tower and make sure you
get there early as you could be in for a lengthy wait.
L'Arc de Triomphe is a must see both outside and in, and at night it offers some
amazing views of the Champs-Elysees. The Louvre hosts some of the most famous works
of art known to the world (Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa painting for example)
as well as being one of the great sights of Paris itself (the modern glass pyramids).
The Musée d'Orsay is another art gallery, hosting several pieces by Van Gogh and
Monet. The Rodin and Picasso museums are two more galleries that are worth visiting
whether you're an art lover or not.
Don't forget about Notre-Dame and if you're feeling fit you can climb to the top
to see that famous bell. Then get ice cream on Ile St. Louis. During the day visit
the Sacre-Coeur and the Moulin Rouge in the Monmartre neighborhood.
Paris is home to one of the worlds best Metro systems which makes it incredibly
easy to make your way around the city but don't forget to take a stroll along the
river Seine. If you're a fan of water then the Bateau-Mouche is the best way for
you to see the sights as you can hop on and off at different stops along the river.
Quartier Latin has a very lively atmosphere with much to do and much to see, including
Shakespeare and Company (the famous bookstore), cafes, bars and restaurants.
